Five ways to grow direct revenue from your NewBook account

Revenue management on NewBook

NewBook is a powerful hotel-management platform, yet most properties only use a fraction of its revenue-generating potential. Here are five actions NewBook users can put in motion straight away to lift their occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).

1. Audit the NewBook rate-plan structure

Most NewBook properties accumulate rate plans over time without ever rationalising them. Sign in to your NewBook account and open the rate plan manager. Count the number of active plans. If you run more than 15 for a property under 50 rooms, you very likely have overlapping, redundant or contradictory rates exposed to the OTAs.

Too many rate plans create confusion for the NewBook system and for the booking engines. Reduce them to a clean core: BAR (Best Available Rate), Advance Purchase (14-day, 21-day), Non-Refundable and specific plans (AAA, corporate). Each rate plan should have a clear purpose and a readable price differential. Remove the rest.

Cleaner rate plan structures inside NewBook correlate with better conversion rates on the connected booking engines because guests face fewer competing offers and identify the best price more clearly.

2. Activate every channel available in the NewBook channel manager

The channel manager built into NewBook includes connections to the major OTAs, but properties often leave several available channels dormant. Sign in to your NewBook account and check the channel list under Distribution → Channel Manager. Compare the list of available channels to the ones currently active.

Any channel that produces even 5 bookings a month at your property's average ADR is worth activating if the NewBook connection is already included in your plan. The marginal cost of an additional NewBook channel is effectively zero — the connection is maintained by NewBook.

For channels beyond the standard NewBook list, third-party OTA connector modules (such as the CloudBookMod Channel Manager Sync (Global OTAs)) can broaden your distribution to niche channels — wellness aggregators, bleisure platforms, GDS sub-channels — that are not included in the base channel manager.

3. Use NewBook restrictions to manage minimum length of stay

Minimum-length-of-stay restrictions are one of the simplest revenue-management levers available inside NewBook, yet most properties leave them at their default (no minimum) all year. In your NewBook account, open the restriction manager and map your 90-day demand calendar.

For confirmed high-demand dates (local events, school holidays, peak-season weekends), apply a 2-night minimum stay restriction inside NewBook. This prevents short bookings from blocking longer, higher-value stays arriving later. The NewBook restriction manager supports per-date rules so you can apply them surgically without affecting shoulder periods.

To automate minimum-stay and pricing rules, the CloudBookMod Multi-Property Central Dashboard module monitors live occupancy on your NewBook account and applies pre-configured rules automatically — no manual weekly intervention required.

4. Analyse the pickup report inside NewBook

The NewBook pickup report shows how many reservations have been recorded on each booking date for each arrival date. It is one of the most valuable reports in the NewBook analytics suite and is included in your subscription at no additional cost.

Access it via Reports → Booking Analysis → Pickup Report inside your NewBook account. Set the comparison period to the same dates last year. Look for pace shifts: are guests booking earlier or later than last year? Are you ahead or behind on peak dates?

Booking-pace intelligence is the foundation of any revenue-management strategy. The native NewBook pickup report delivers this data for free — most properties never open it. If you want more granular analysis — multi-period comparisons, pickup by channel, ADR-weighted pickup — the CloudBookMod Multi-Property Central Dashboard module extends NewBook reporting with custom dashboards.

5. Set up post-stay review automation

Review velocity (the pace at which you accumulate new reviews) is a direct ranking factor on major OTA platforms. Properties that systematically request a review after every stay outperform those that rely on spontaneous submissions by a factor of 3 to 5 in review volume.

NewBook supports post-stay email triggers through its built-in email template system. In your NewBook account, go to Communications → Email Templates → Post-stay. Create a post-stay template that fires 24 hours after check-out and contains a direct link to your two main review platforms. Keep the request short and direct — a one-sentence review ask outperforms a long multi-paragraph email.

For more advanced post-stay automation — win-back campaigns, multi-segment sequences, unsubscribe handling — the CloudBookMod Guest CRM & Loyalty module ships pre-configured flows triggered directly from NewBook reservation status changes.
